Seals  have an "expiry date": the maximum storage period for these products is around 5 years. However, this time frame is strictly connected to the environmental conditions of the warehouse and to the correct storage in the warehouse environments.

 

 

The storage environment and its environmental conditions are fundamental elements for proper storage. These items, if stored incorrectly in the warehouse, may undergo variations in physical and chemical properties so as to compromise the functionality of mechanical parts in which they are applied.

To avoid this type of problems it’s essential to observe small precautions to guarantee its function and extend its life.

 

We supply you seals inside a yellow bag - which is itself an excellent protection against light, radiation and air. It is therefore important to keep our products inside the yellow bag until they are used. But the bag is not enough, even the conditions of the warehouse are important for seals storage: we suggest you to keep a temperature between + 5 ° c to + 25 ° centigrade degrees and it must not filter sunlight or other sources of direct heat. If seals are subjected to low temperatures, before using, it’s necessary to bring them back to room temperature to avoid compromising the seals.

 

Another important parameter to consider is humidity: it is recommended to maintain a percentage of humidity between 65 and 70 percent.

 

We also advise you not to put seals made of different materials in contact with each other and to place them in an adequate space so that they do not suffer deformation or compression. It is also good to avoid contact with solvents, oils, greases and metals containing copper, manganese, iron and plasticizing materials such as PVC. Finally, you will need to keep the seals away from ozone sources such as combustible gases, lamps or electric motors to avoid harmful chemical reactions.
