Washers are the simplest and most economical solution to tightening or sealing problems in hydraulic circuits.

They are usually only used for static seals and at high pressures because, unlike O-Rings they offer a very large sealing surface that can effectively counteract all degenerative phenomena due to the distorting action of pressure.

These seals are suitable for numerous conditions of use under both minimal and considerable pressure and crushing. The choice of the exact compound and hardness is of paramount importance as the sealing surface is usually very large and very different results can be obtained even with only a slight difference in hardness.

Washers can be made from many materials, but metals find their specific application and wide deployment in the automotive, shipbuilding, aviation and general industrial sectors, due to their qualities of extreme strength, solidity and by virtue of the properties of the individual metals or alloys that they are composed of.
They can be made of copper and aluminium and are used for hydraulics because, in addition to providing a solid seal, they have very high conductivity.
The copper one is mainly used for sealing static pipe screw fittings.

Fibre washers have good resistance to oils, petrol, seawater corrosion and organic solvents. They are used in all industries including healthcare and food, they are abrasion and UV-resistant and electrically insulating are designed to prevent leakage and contamination and are ideal for sealing and spacing.
